📑 ➖➖➖ HMBS Durward Knowles was commissioned in 2014 and is one of the 4 Legend Class vessels procured by the Bahamas Government under the Sandy Bottom Project to increase the effectiveness of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s fleet. As well as the acquisition of a fleet of nine patrol and support vessels of various types, the Sandy Bottom project includes the upgrading of the existing naval base at Coral Harbour plus the construction of two new facilities elsewhere in the Bahamas.
