ℹ️ ➖➖➖ The 120 mm M-75 mortar was a Yugoslav mortar introduced in 1975. Shooting is performed by the insertion path, so it is suitable for shooting at targets on rear slopes, ravines and other depressions. To perform these tasks, it uses the Laka currently high-explosive mine (LTF), a smoke and lighting mine, and there is also an active jet mine. The maximum range with LTF and smoke mine is 6340 m with 6 additional charges, it works effectively on the enemy outside the shelter up to 5700 m and in the shelter up to 4800 m. The radius of lethal action with a contact lighter is 17 m, and with a close range of 60-75 m. In the case of smoke mines, white phosphorus is dispersed in a diameter of about 40 m. The maximum active range of the illuminating mine is 5700 m, the best results are achieved when the torch is lit at a height of 400 m, burns for about 60 seconds and illuminates a diameter of about 1200 m. The horizontal field of action with the movement of the two-legged carriage is 360 °, but it is not so feasible. Although the substrate is buried at an angle of 25 °, in practice it allows a displacement of 60 ° without moving the substrate. The field of action without moving the gun carriage is 6 °. The speed of fire with checking the elements goes up to 12 mines in the first minute.
The tube is smooth and hard chrome-plated, with a constant diameter along its entire length. There is a reinforcement at the top, which also serves to unwind the pipe from the rear. At the rear of the pipe there is a locking and tripping mechanism. The trigger has 3 positions (firing mode) individually, with fast fire and stiff. When standing in the single firing mode, the loader fires by pulling the firing rope, which is also the most common firing mode, and on the mortar it is marked with the letter J.
During a quick fire, the marksman turns the locksmith to the position with the up arrow drawn. In that case, the mine will activate itself when descending into the pipe. The third position is stiff (U). There is a pair of shock absorbers on the two-legged carriage, which has the task of compensating (mitigating) the jerk. There are also mechanisms for giving the elevation of the pipe and leveling, ie eliminating the influence of the slope of the soil. Aiming device is used to capture the elements of fire. It is equipped with two spirit levels with which the mortar is leveled, and tritium reticles for working at night. The undercarriage serves to transport the mortar, and the base is the support of the mortar and has the task of transmitting the firing force from the pipe to the ground. Weight MB 120mm M75 is 261Kg in marching position and 178 kg in combat position.
