The Kuwait Air Force is the air arm of the Armed Forces of Kuwait. The Air Force headquarters is located at Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base, with the remaining forces stationed at Air Defense Brigades, Ali Al Salem Air Base, and Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base. The Kuwait Air Force numbers approximately 5,000 officers and enlisted personnel. The Kuwait Air Force was founded in 1953 by Field Marshal Sheikh Abdullah Mubarak Al-Sabah when the Directorate of Public Security Force split from the Kuwaiti Army; the new force was equipped with a number of Austers in different configurations and two de Havilland DH.104 Doves.
Military aviation started in Kuwait when the Security Department of Kuwait began to operate a number of Auster aircraft supplied by the Kuwait Aero Club. These were soon supplemented by a pair of Doves. In 1961 a growing threat by Iraq to invade Kuwait was averted by rapidly-deployed British military reinforcements, but this lead to the Air Wing being reorganized as the Kuwait Air Force. The Air Force took delivery of its first jet aircraft in 1962 and expanded rapidly with additional helicopters and other aircraft. Hawker Hunters and then Lightnings formed the nucleus of a fighter force that now operates F/A-18 Hornets. During the Iraqi invasion on 2nd August 1990, KAF aircraft were forced to flee to Bahrain to escape capture. The KAF then regrouped in Saudi Arabia and was able to conduct offensive operations alongside coalition forces during the United Nations campaign to liberate Kuwait from occupation.
The Kuwait military serial numbering system consists of a three-digit number, e.g. 414 for F/A-18C and 145 for Hawk Mk.64. The numbers are reused once a type has been retired.
The KAF is organized into nine Squadrons at three main bases.

The People's Liberation Army Ground Force (PLAGF) is the land-based service branch of the People's Liberation Army and it is the largest and oldest branch of the entire Chinese armed forces. The PLAGF can trace its lineage from 1927, however it wasn't officially established until 1948. As of 2016, the PLAGF has a strength of 1,600,000 personnel making it the largest standing army in the world. In addition, the People's Liberation Army Ground Force has an estimated 510,000 strong reserve force. There are 18 corps sized Group Armies, divided among five Theater commands — Eastern, Southern, Northern, Western, Central. Within the Theater Commands, divisions are being downsized into brigades.
The People's Liberation Army Navy also known as the PLA Navy, is the naval warfare branch of the People's Liberation Army, the armed wing of the Communist Party of China and by default, the national armed force of the People's Republic of China. The PLAN can trace its lineage to naval units fighting during the Chinese Civil War and was established in September 1950. The People's Liberation Army Navy is composed of five branches; the People's Liberation Army Navy Submarine Force, the People's Liberation Army Navy Surface Force, the People's Liberation Army Navy Coastal Defense Force, the People's Liberation Army Marine Corps and the People's Liberation Army Naval Air Force. With a personnel strength of 255,000 servicemen and women, including 10,000 marines and 26,000 naval air force personnel, it is the second largest navy in the world in terms of tonnage, only behind the United States Navy, and has the largest number of major combatants of any navy. The PLAN is organized into several departments for purposes of command, control and coordination. Main operating forces are organized into fleets, each with its own headquarters, a commander (a Rear Admiral or Vice Admiral) and a Political Commisar. All PLAN headquarters are subordinate to the PLA General Staff Department and the Chairman of the Central Military Committee. The People's Liberation Army Navy is divided into three fleets:
The North Sea Fleet, based in the Yellow Sea and headquartered in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The East Sea Fleet, based in the East China Sea and headquartered in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province.
The South Sea Fleet, based in the South China Sea and headquartered in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province.
